About Us
Hohlstein Construction, Inc. is a small family-run business, started by Ernie Hohlstein in 1985.  Prior to starting his own business, Ernie initially worked for a custom cabinet maker and then for a small general contractor.  During the first four years with the general contractor he completed the Carpenter’s Union Apprenticeship Program.  As his knowledge and skills increased, he took on increasing levels of responsibility with that company.   Hohlstein Construction, Inc.  focuses on residential remodeling  but can also do new homes or buildings and commercial projects.
Residential projects we’ve taken from idea to completion include full second story additions, kitchens, bathrooms, decks, recreation rooms in basements, window and door replacements, accessible/barrier free remodels, whole home renovations and we’ve even added a room on a single family dwelling for exotic birds.  What you get when you decide to go with Hohlstein Construction, Inc. for a remodeling project is expert client consultation and service throughout the project.  We can work with you to design the project/draw up the plans or work with an architect’s plans.  Ernie and his crew can problem-solve with you to identify unforeseen issues that can come up with older home remodel projects, as well as with newer home remodeling.  In major kitchen remodels, we can help you set up a temporary kitchen.  Ernie will explain the process along the way to eliminate any surprises in the end.  Hohlstein Construction, Inc. uses written change orders, an expedited punch list for the end of every job, and progress billing to make financing easier.  We will work with you to facilitate client friendly scheduling and do all we can to make the remodeling project create as little disruption as possible for your family. 
We’re conscious of the impact of our industry on the environment and strive to design and build with energy efficiency in mind while producing minimal waste.  We are pleased to utilize green building materials and products and will recycle everything possible.
